Mission

Mission
The South Florida Veterinary Foundation’s (SFVF) mission is to increase the access of quality veterinary care, promote responsible pet ownership, and increase awareness of the importance of the human-animal bond in our community.

About Us
The SFVF is comprised of veterinarians in South Florida who generously donate their time and energy to increase awareness and promote education about animal care in our community.

The funds raised by the foundation benefit multiple causes — from donating to local rescue groups to running a free spay/neuter program and free vet care clinics for the pet’s belonging to low income families and the homeless.

Please note that SFVF CANNOT help individuals with pets in need of serious medical attention, nor do we have the resources to offer Free Veterinary care. SFVF offers Free clinics at Camillus House which provides Preventative care for pets of the homeless, low income or elderly.

History of the South Florida Veterinary Foundation
The SFVF was originally founded in 1973 as a vehicle through which vets could give back to their community. Originally all funds were raised through the addition of $1 to every rabies tag sale at a participating vet clinic, but today $1 can be donated for any service participating vets choose. Throughout it’s history the SFVF has sterilized thousands of animals and spread awareness about veterinary medicine in our community. The SFVF now encompasses all of South Florida. It’s membership is open to any and every licensed veterinarian with a philanthropic spirit.
